Privacy policy
Barrage: Squad Combat privacy policy
1. Summary
Barrage: Squad Combat does not collect personal data. Playing against the AI is fully on-device; online matches send only your moves and the team name you type through Barrage's match relay, for the length of the game. The app does not include analytics, telemetry, advertising, or crash reporting. No account is required to use the app.
2. Data Barrage: Squad Combat stores and sends
Barrage: Squad Combat stores its working data (your settings, history, and content) in the app's private storage on your device. This on-device data stays on your device; what is sent during online play is described in the next paragraph. You can clear it at any time by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Barrage stores your settings and local vs-AI stats on your device, and they stay there. Online play is the only feature that sends anything off the device. When you start an online match, your device opens a direct connection to Barrage's match-relay server (operated by Kuroki Studio on Cloudflare Workers). For the duration of that one match it relays the team name you type, your moves and shots and their outcomes, and a temporary server-issued room code and player token used to reconnect if you drop. None of this is written to a database, linked to an account, or kept after the match ends, and no name, email, location, or device identifier is attached. There is no account system: you never sign in. Vs-AI matches contact no server at all.
Android's own backup system may include this data in your Google account backup if you have device backup enabled in Android Settings. That backup is controlled by Google and by your device settings; Kuroki Studio cannot access it.
3. Permissions Barrage: Squad Combat requests and why
- Internet
(android.permission.INTERNET) - Used for online multiplayer (a direct WebSocket connection to Barrage's match-relay server) and to verify and restore your purchase with Google Play. Playing against the AI works fully offline; the network is contacted only when you start an online match or make a purchase.
4. Third-party services used in Barrage: Squad Combat
Barrage: Squad Combat is a paid app. To process your purchase and restore it on reinstall or a new device, it uses Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. Where an app also has an optional feature that reaches the network (for example fetching live currency rates), the service behind that feature is listed below with the exact purpose it serves and the data it receives. No third-party services beyond those listed here are used.
- Google Play Billing
-
Purpose: Processes the in-app purchase itself. All payment handling is performed by Google.
Data shared: Whatever Google Play collects to process a purchase on your Google account. Kuroki Studio never sees your payment details.
Their policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- RevenueCat
-
Purpose: Verifies your purchase and restores it on reinstall or device change.
Data shared: An anonymous app-install identifier, the Google Play purchase token, your device platform and app version, and country (derived from IP at the time of purchase). No name, email, contacts, or location is sent.
Their policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
- Barrage online match relay (operated by Kuroki Studio on Cloudflare Workers)
-
Purpose: Hosts online matches. When you start an online game, your device opens a direct WebSocket connection to this relay, which pairs you with an opponent (Quick Match) or with the holder of your private room code, then forwards each turn between the two players in real time.
Data shared: For the duration of a single match only: the team name you type, your moves and shots and their outcomes, and a temporary server-issued room code and player token used to reconnect if you drop. This is relayed between the two players live; it is not written to a database, not linked to any account, and discarded when the match ends. No name, email, location, app-install identifier, or device identifier is attached. Playing against the AI uses no network at all.
Their policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
5. Children's privacy
Barrage: Squad Combat is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Kuroki Studio does not knowingly collect any data from children. Because Barrage: Squad Combat does not collect personal data from anyone, this also applies to children who use the app.
6. Your rights
Because Kuroki Studio does not hold any personal data about you in connection with Barrage: Squad Combat, there is no personal-data record to access, correct, port, or erase on our end. To remove the app data stored on your device, clear the app's storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app. See the account and data deletion page for details.
