Privacy policy

Effective 2026-05-28. Applies to the studio website (https://kurokistudio.com) and to every Android application published by Kuroki Studio.

1. Who we are

Kuroki Studio is a sole proprietorship based in Kumamoto, Japan (D-U-N-S 699200333). It publishes paid Android applications. Kuroki Studio is the data controller for any personal data described in this policy.

2. Summary

  • Kuroki Studio apps do not collect personal data about you for our own use.
  • App data is stored on your device, not on our servers. We do not operate a server for any app.
  • There is no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no crash reporting in any app.
  • No account is required to use any app.
  • For paid apps, two third-party services (Google Play Billing and RevenueCat) process your purchase. They are described in section 5.

3. The website (kurokistudio.com)

This website is a static marketing site hosted on GitHub Pages. Kuroki Studio does not place cookies and does not run any first-party analytics on the site. Your request to view a page is handled by GitHub's edge servers; GitHub may keep short-lived request logs (such as IP address and user-agent) for security and operational purposes, as described in GitHub's privacy statement. Kuroki Studio does not receive those logs.

If you email Kuroki Studio (for example to support@kurokistudio.com or privacy@kurokistudio.com), your email and its contents are received and read by us. We use that information only to respond to your message, retain it for a reasonable period (no more than two years) for support-history purposes, and then delete it.

Every published app has its own privacy page describing the data that app stores on your device, the permissions it requests, and any service it integrates with. The current list:

5. Third-party services used by paid apps

Because every Kuroki Studio app is a paid app, two third-party services are used to process and verify your purchase. No other third-party services are integrated.

Google Play Billing

Purpose: Processes the in-app purchase itself; all payment handling is performed by Google.

Data shared: Whatever Google Play collects to process a purchase on your Google account. Kuroki Studio never sees your payment details.

RevenueCat

Purpose: Verifies your purchase and restores it on reinstall or device change.

Data shared: An anonymous app-install identifier, the Google Play purchase token, your device platform and app version, and country (derived from IP at the time of purchase). No name, email, contacts, or location is sent.

6. Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the legal basis for the limited processing described above is:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for purchase verification through Google Play Billing and RevenueCat: this processing is necessary to deliver and to restore the paid app you bought.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for GitHub's short-lived web server logs and for responding to your email: keeping the website online, protecting it from abuse, and answering messages you choose to send us.

We do not rely on consent because we do not place cookies and do not collect personal data beyond what is described above.

7. International transfers

Kuroki Studio operates from Kumamoto, Japan. GitHub (the website host) and Google (Play Billing) and RevenueCat operate global infrastructure; their handling of personal data, including any transfers, is governed by their own published policies linked above.

8. Children's privacy

Kuroki Studio apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because the apps do not collect personal data, no data is knowingly collected from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information by emailing us, contact privacy@kurokistudio.com and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI), under the EU GDPR, under the UK GDPR, and under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar regimes, you have rights including access, correction, deletion, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email privacy@kurokistudio.com. Because Kuroki Studio holds very little or no personal data about you, most requests can be honored simply by deleting any email correspondence we have with you.

10. Changes to this policy

When this policy is updated, the new version replaces this one at this URL and the effective date above is updated. The repository history at github.com/kuroki-studio/kuroki-site records every change.
