About

Rung is a fixed, alternating two-day (Lower/Upper) bodyweight training program: no equipment, no gym, no coach. Twelve movement-pattern ladders, 73 numbered levels in total, tell you exactly what to do each session in order, bracketed by a short dynamic warm-up and a fixed accessory close.

Every set is logged against a numeric target (reps, or a hold time, per side where it matters), and a session only counts as clean when you also confirm full range of motion with no compensation. Five clean sessions in a row promotes you to the next level automatically; there is no manual level-up.

The free tier is the complete program: every numbered level across all 12 patterns, the full session template, standard promotion, 30-day history, a daily reminder, and a rest-day mobility routine. A one-time $5.99 Pro unlock adds one further level per pattern, a reviewed way to pick back up after a missed week, a weekly training schedule with reminders, unlimited history with a promotion timeline, a long-term progress chart, up to 6 family profiles on one device, and local JSON backup and restore.

Rung is in development for Android and iPhone; neither store listing is live yet, and there is no dedicated iPad layout today.

What it does

  • Twelve movement-pattern ladders, 73 numbered levels, with a few gated behind a foundational movement first
  • Promotion requires both a numeric target and self-certified clean form, not reps alone
  • A reviewed, never-silent way to adjust after time off training (Pro)
  • Per-side logging for tracking left/right imbalance
  • Family profiles: up to 6 people, fully isolated progress, on one device and one purchase (Pro)
  • No ads, no account, no subscription; training runs fully offline

Accuracy and limitations

Rung is a bodyweight training program, not a medical or rehabilitative device. Promotion is based on a numeric target and your own self-certified clean form; the app cannot verify your form itself. A few levels carry named injury-risk cautions in their form notes (including the Nordic curl, wall handstand, single-leg RDL, and pistol squat); read them before attempting an unfamiliar movement, and talk to a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise program.

Privacy at a glance
